Samuraii sword. How do I tune a replica?

Hello, I have a set of replica samurai swords and say stainless steel on them. They are very strong. I need to refine them. I wondered how I would go about doing this. I have a knife sharpener, but this is only for kitchen knives. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers.
